Willard Middle School has approximately 390 students and 30 staff members. the Middle School mission is to "Inspire students to feel like a Champion." Our goal is to provide the academic, technological, and social skills essential for all students to become critical thinkers and life long learners in a diverse and ever-changing society.
We are in our fourth year of implementing the research-based PBIS program we call P.R.I.D.E. We are working diligently on providing a learning environment that stresses the importance of RESPECT for self, others and our school. This past year we received our second Bronze award for effectively teaching and modeling positive behavioral, expectations and helping each child reach their greatest potential.
We are a one-to-one school, meaning all of our students have their own personal Chromebook to use at school every day. Teachers also have access to interactive SMART projectors in their classrooms for general instruction. Many of our teachers are incorporating technology to enhance their instruction and show our students how to apply the knowledge they have learned.
We offer co-curricular activities that are vital to a well-rounded education, in addition to the academic areas. We feel it is most important for each student to become active in one or more of our clubs, organizations, and activities. Many students choose to participate in outside events such as interscholastic sports, student council, band, choir, orchestra, cheerleading, academic challenge, and dances.
We are in the midst of a great change occurring in our educational system, not only in Ohio, but across the nation. We are prepared to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents to help our students achieve academic success and prepare them to be a part of a dynamic global society.
