Responsibilities:
* FASHION CAN BE FATAL
ON A SCHOOL BUS - Parents should choose clothing and book bags which are
not loose fitting or have drawstrings or large straps. * Parents should have
students at the bus stop five (5) minutes prior to scheduled arrival of
the bus.
* Parents are responsible for the safety and discipline of students while
going to and from the bus stop.
* Parents will be monetarily responsible for any damage done by their
children.
* Parents should discuss proper bus behavior with their children and support
the driver when behavior problems occur on the bus.
* Parents are responsible for transporting their children to and from
school if bus transportation is denied to the student.
* Parents should provide to their child's school, necessary medical information
that can be provided to the bus drivers, in case of an emergency.
* Parents should review with their children the DANGER ZONES
of a school bus. Danger Zone:  1. Avoid the danger
zone! Walk ten giant steps beyond the bus bumper before crossing in front
of the bus.
2. Stop! Wait for the bus driver's hand signal.
3. Go to the middle of the road to check for traffic in both directions.
4. Proceed to designated "Place of Safety"
5. Listen! If the bus driver blows the horn - DANGER - check traffic.
If ok, look to driver for further instructions
6. Walk straight across the road - not at an angle.
7. Do not go to a mailbox until the bus has left the stop.
