Dear Parents,
Our Board of Education policy states that before a student may participate
in an interscholastic sports program that they must have either school
insurance or a waiver form signed by a parent or guardian. Enclosed is
an application form of our student accident insurance and a copy of our
waiver form.
The student accident insurance policy is an EXCESSIVE INSURANCE POLICY,
which means that in case of a claim, you must collect on your personal
insurance first.
My recommendation in regard to the waiver form or the purchase of student
accident insurance is that if you have a good insurance policy that you
sign the waiver form and do not purchase the student accident insurance;
however, if you have no insurance, or a limited policy, I recommend that
you purchase the student accident insurance policy. This is simply a parental
decision and the Athletic Department and Board of Education only request
that either the student accident policy or waiver form be on file before
a student is allowed to participate. The student accident insurance policy
is merely a service provided by the Willard City Schools and is not promoted
by the schools.
I do recommend that if a student expects to purchase the policy at any
time during the school year that they purchase it at the beginning of
the school year.
If I can be of any assistance to you in making this decision, please do
not hesitate to call me at 935-5181.
Sincerely,
Michael
